School Closure - COVID-19

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

With the announcement on Monday 23 March at 1.30 our country is going into Level 3 so that we may be organised for Level 4 on Wednesday (25th).

The health and safety of all our families is important. Jacinda Ardern has said "we are all now preparing as a nation to go into self-isolation in the same way we have seen other countries do. Staying at home is essential".
From today all children, except those of parents who work in essential services, are to stay at home. The children whose parents are in essential services may come to school until Wednesday.
All schools will be closed from midnight Wednesday (25th March).  SKIDs will open after school up to and including Wednesday afternoon.
Teachers will be in email and SEESAW contact from next week. Please find attached a link to some home learning tasks that you might like to undertake to continue the engagement and learning of your child/ren.

We realise this will be a big change for people and there will be lots of organisation for many in regard to family and businesses. Our thoughts are with you at this time and we look forward to a time when our community can connect together again.
In the meantime, "Be Strong, Be Kind" and look after each other.

School Carpark

As you may have noticed building has begun on our new school block.

One of the impacts of this, is that the students have lost some of their play area and we have also lost 11 car park spaces in the staff car park.

For the safety of all our students and our community,  we ask you not to access the front car park from 7.30 am – 5.00 pm as there will be nowhere for you to park.

If you have a child with an injury that requires them to be dropped off, please contact the school office to discuss.

If you are called during the day to come and pick up your child,  because they are sick, you may also use the disability carpark.

As we only have one disability carpark we ask that the pick up is done as quickly as possible.

If you are coming to pick up your child for an appointment etc., during school hours, you will need to park on the street and walk in to collect them from the office.

Please be aware that during the school day there will be work trucks accessing the school and for the safety of everyone it is important that we all park in the correct place.

When you are parking on Mellons Bay Road or MacMillan Place, please observe the parking restrictions that are in place between 8.15 – 9.15am and 2.30 – 3.30pm.

We also ask you, for the safety of everybody, please do not do u-turns outside the school or use drive ways to turn your vehicle around. Please drive down to the car park by the beach and turn around there.

These restrictions will be in place for at least the first two terms of this year.
