The school has four houses. Students are placed into a school house when they enrol:

The school works in three teams:
Māhuri (Junior) – Years 0, 1 and 2
Tōtara (Middle) – Years 3 and 4
Kauri (Senior) – Years 5 and 6

At Mellons Bay School half of our spaces are Innovative Learning Environments.

8:25 am Students may enter the classroom
8:30 am Office opens
9:00 am School begins
10:40 – 11:00 am Morning Tea
12:30 – 1:30 pm Lunch
2:45 – 3:10 pm Kea Crossing operating
3:00 pm School finishes
3:30 pm Office closes
